Dipper

The dipper will stand on a rock, amongst fast shallow running water, "curtseying" every few seconds as if on springs, then slip beneath the water and walk along the stream-bed seeking aquatic invertebrates. The dipper is smooth and portly and has a white chin, throat and breast whilst the rest of the body is brown-black.
